The Stewards
Within the living heart of Eber, and each ensuing Ministry of Life community, the Steward families radiate with vision and purpose. These brave pioneers, united by a bond with the land, a connection with each other, or a yearning for a divine calling, form the foundation of our ministry. They are our trailblazers, the ones entrusted with the sacred responsibility of nurturing the land and managing their herds, embodying the essence of Shiloh and the Ministry of Life in every seed they sow and every life they nurture in our mission to help one another and bring delight to the Creator.
Our Stewards serve as a modern reflection of the Levites of biblical times, whose sacred duty it was to transport and care for the Tabernacle, the movable sanctuary that journeyed with the Israelites across the desert. Just as the Levites bore the weight of the Tabernacle's curtains and walls, our Stewards, akin to the families of Gershon and Merari, shoulder the task of constructing and protecting our communities. Their mission is to craft places of refuge that honor life, places where the chaos of a desolate ecosystem gives way to growth and spirituality, where a unity takes root, strong enough to rebuff the negativity and temptation that awaits us everywhere.
The Levitical family of Kehat, given the sacred duty of transporting the Tabernacle's most sacred vessels, such as the Ark of the Covenant, will also echo in our Stewards, who shoulder the crucial task of nurturing the most precious vessels of life - our women and children. As custodians of the future, they ensure natural births within our communities can be conducted safely and in an environment of tranquility, provide education to our young, and guard the sanctity of future generations through providing nutrient dense foods that fortify the gut microbiome and prevent the physical decay that so many of us were raised into.
However, our Stewards tread a new path, one not written in ancient texts but forged in the crucible of our collective aspirations for a brighter, more unified future of wholeness. They are the sculptors of a future yet unseen, the architects of a world yet unbuilt. Their task is not simply to mimic the past but to reimagine it, to breathe life into the dusty pages of history, and infuse it with the power and majesty of a divine calling.
Their lives are a testament to resilience, to the belief that in the rhythm of nature, we find our own. In the whispering winds, the rustling leaves, and the teeming soil, they discern a symphony of creation, a melody that guides their hands as they paint on the canvas of God's platform, Earth, to forge a brighter future. They are the custodians of our values, the guardians of our purpose, the living embodiment of our shared vision of the Messianic Age.
In the end, a Steward is not simply a title, nor merely a role. It is a mantle of honor, a testament to a spirit ignited by a dream greater than oneself and connected to God. As the stewards of Eber and subsequent colonies take up their sacred trust, they do so not as laborers of the land, but as keepers of a dream, as architects of a future where every heart is a hearth, and every soul, a sanctuary.
